Hi All
I'd like to welcome all of you to
iSuping.com, and by telling you a bit more about myself and the aim of this site. I'm Carlo van Wyk, I come from a kiteboarding background and started
iKiteboarding.com way back in 2001 after getting totally hooked on kiteboarding. Fast forward to July 2008, and I'm hooked on yet another great sport : Stand Up Paddle Surfing. And so iSuping.com was born.
I'm still in the early stages of learning the sport, but am already hooked in much the same way that I got hooked on Kiteboarding, the only difference is that I'm even more hooked than I was way back then.
It's exciting and a privilege at the same time to be part of a sport that is still in it's early development stages. When I look at the faces of friends coming off the water, the camaraderie amongst paddle boarders, the stoke shared amongst us, and the way in which this sport becomes a part of our lives, I have no doubt in my mind that this sport has huge potential.
As I hear people talking about Stand Up Paddle Surfing wherever I go, see Paddle Surfers starting to appear on various beaches, and see more and more shops selling SUP equipment, it only confirms that this sport is growing at a rapid pace.
I will be sharing my experiences as a new Paddle Boarder on this site, but will also be posting regular industry related news and reports from around the world, in the same style of
