CorebanThe beauty of SUP is that at last you can actually get away from the crowd factor. Outer reefs, flat water cruising on dams or river trips with a bunch of mates. SUP brings back the traditional soul feel that surfing originated from. Whether it’s in warm tropical Hawaii on a killer 10 foot day or a 2 foot day on the West Coast of Africa in freezing waters, there’s really never a bad day of paddle boarding.
Yzerfontein is usually known for rather rough seas but on the right day with light offshore winds, it can offer hours of paddling fun. The Coreban SA SUP crew (
www.coreban.com ) recently hit the road again to capture a few moments of fun to prove that it’s all about having the right attitude, and when there’s not enough wind for kiting and windsurfing or too small to surf, whipping out the 12 foot longboards allows for core exercise and fun in one package. Ivan van Vuuren, Barend Buys, Jaco van Rensburg and Neil Esterhuizen are seen cruising on the Coreban Cruisers.
